Movie of the Day: The Secret of NIMH (1982)
Moms represent in this film adaptation of the 1971 children’s book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. Don Bluth wasn’t taking it easy just because it was a kiddie story, though, because this movie could be genuinely unsettling. That owl was a real dick even if he was wise and helpful.
Movie of the Day: Total Recall (1990)
I haven’t seen the remake of this sci-fi classic. Not because I have anything against the idea of a remake. It’s just that I doubt Colin Farrell’s ability to sell me on the idea that he could survive almost having his head explode on Mars and without that, what’s the point?
Movie of the Day: Zoolander (2001)
This is a movie about a brave man (played by Ben Stiller looking like Herman Munster’s metrosexual son) that learns a valuable lesson that even someone who is really, really, ridiculously good-looking can be a hero so long as other people come in at the last minute and save him.
